The infection starts

Swedish death metal act Beyond Mortality was originally formed way back in 1999 by Anton Wallette, Tobias Karlsson and Tony “Ári” Pettersson. Together they strived to improve the death metal scene in the world.

Together they strived to improve the death metal scene in the world.In 2001 Beyond Mortality released the first demo called The final chapter of life, a dark tale about the art of dying. After several gigs they managed to establish themselves in the local underground scene with their unique sound. In 2002 Beyond Mortality’s second release came. A eight track demo named Dear Boss, and it was influenced by the serial killer Jack the Ripper.

In 2004 they released their third demo, a three track EP release called Not meant to last. This was more thrash influenced and had a bit softer lyrics. David Göransson (ex. Mark Black) joined in on this release and after a couple of gigs with the band he decided to leave. This was the start of Beyond Mortality of today.

The beast awakens

Tobias, Anton and Tony decided to release a new demo in 2008. At this time Beyond Mortality was a trio and because of that the thrash/death metal sound they had before was hard to achieve. Turn Blind, therefor became sort of progressive death metal. Realizing that fans still appreciated their live performance the trio decided to form a bigger band to achieve the wall of sound Beyond Mortality is meant to be.

Angrier, faster and with no concern for their own me(n)tal health they released the demo Infected LifeIn 2009 they joined forces with Johan Kaiser (ex. Mindcollapse) on vocals and magic started to happen. When Gustav Sundin joined in on bassguitar late 2009 murder was easy. Angrier, faster and with no concern for their own me(n)tal health they released the demo Infected Life in 2010. Beyond Mortality continue to strive for faster riffs, angrier and more deadly lyrics delivered with a punch you will feel everywhere. After doing a couple of gigs in 2010 they started to work on their next release. Faster riffs, harder beatings on the drums and angrier demons sprung out of the cold, dark and damp basement they call home. In the spring of 2011 the new demo, Suffocation By Fear met the masses. From the first note struck until the last, Suffocation By Fear will eat you up from the inside with its flesh ripping riffs.
for the beast has awakened and this is only the beginningIn 2012 Beyond Mortality signed a pact with Grom records and Wormholedeath Records to release their first full length album. Recorded in Mathlab recording studios in Italy during 2012, Infected Life is a very strong extreme metal album that will blow your mind. Influenced by old school thrash and death metal, masterd by Dan Swanö himself at Unisound studios Infected Life is a modern sounding, flesh ripping, blood drenched CD that is a must have for every fan of extreme metal!
